RIDER BIOMECHANICS CLINIC with Britta Pedersen

Saturday July 27th at Tar Farms

Sunday July 28th at Sycamore Trails

Britta Pedersen, licensed Physical Therapist, Equestrian Fitness Specialist and owner of Performance Refinery  https://performancerefinery.com/equestrian-performance/ .

"Sit up straighter!", "Use your core!", "Try not to collapse your hip!". Does this sound sadly familiar? If so, you, like most riders have also probably wondered how to fix these irritating errors that influence your riding.

Britta will provide tools to strengthen and condition one's individual physical biomechanics with the goal of improving both rider and horse performance.  Britta, an international Grand Prix Dressage and Eventing rider, formerly on the New Zealand teams, has recently worked with Nikki Clark and her students, along with several riders from Stephan Peters' barn Arroyo.

The Clinic format would be as follows:
1. Britta's observation of rider & horse independently working, with a focus on rider's areas of weakness
2.  With rider dismounted, Britta then assesses the rider's muscular weaknesses, tightness, and mobility issues
3.  Via physical therapy, possible manual manipulation and/or kinesiology-taping if warranted, Britta provides suggestions to improve one's areas of weakness
4.  Remounted, rider is further observed to determine if correct alignment and improvement has been made after PT
5.  Finally, over the following week, each rider is emailed a packet from Britta, noting her observations along with a suggested plan of strengthening and conditioning exercises specific to the individual rider

A maximum of 8 riders per day will be accepted for the Clinic, so space is limited.

The cost for each rider is $150 per horse/rider combo.  Each session is approximately 1 hour.

To sign up please email Kristin Young kristinyoung@cox.net to reserve your spot, along with a mailed check with your payment of $150 made out to SJC-CDS.
